…a funny thing happened on the way to the bar
I’m cheap. And I like granola and yogurt. It seems like you get the tiniest amount of granola in those boxes and bags. So, I made my own.
For reference:
Almost 3 x the oats for the price. Plus I get to control what’s in it.
First, get a big bowl and put oats in it. Then stir in some honey, or brown sugar, or syrup, or whatever sweetener/binder you like. This batch was honey and brown sugar. Add a bit of salt. Stir, then lay out on a baking sheet.
Bake at 350 for 10 or 15 minutes. Just until it gets toasted a bit. Then pull and loosen it from the bottom of the sheet.
Put in a bowl, and add things like nuts or dried fruit. It’s important to wait on those, because they’ll bake too fast and be too hard.
Now I’ve got two pounds of granola, and oats left over for the next batch.
