…a funny thing happened on the way to the bar
Well, we made a decision to try to sell our wares at the farmers’ market. We don’t want to commit to every week, but we have sufficient excess that we can try to sell.
The first thing we had to do was get a sales tax number, which meant a federal employer identification number. It’s a whole lot easier to do this now that you can do it online. Weird ply, you can’t over the weekend, which makes me visualize a dude at the end of some Rube Goldberg machine typing in a number.
After getting our EIN, I had to associate it with the business. Which was a bigger pain than it should have been. But we got it all done.
Next up was getting approved for the markets. We went for two markets, Reno County, and the Kansas Grown market in Wichita. Since we are (a) late to the party, and (b) not willing to go every week, we are relegated to the Wednesday evening market for Wichita, and filling in with Reno County.
Now we need to start getting our marketing together. We have an aesthetic in mind. And even two of the three images we want, but we need a third image.
We will have to do a search. After looking at the various options, it appears that fedex is going to be our best bet. So now to design.
In any case, if you’re in Wichita on a Wednesday night, we might be at the downtown market.
We will have eggs, honey, soap, candles, and beeswax food wraps!
Chicken, goat, bee!!
