Maker Monday and Table 21
Yesterday was an orientation for MakeICT. I am not a full member, just a guest of the Husband, so we decided to rectify that. In order to be a member, you have to attend the orientation, take a tour, and then over the course of the next couple of weeks, I’ll get six signatures. Two board members, two area leads, and two regular members. It is designed to get you talking to people.
I’m a third of the way there. I’ll take some safety classes, and get area leads and such to sign.
Afterwards we went to the pizza place down the street, PIatto. So dang good. Apparently on Mondays you get a Nutella dessert if you buy two pies. We kinda felt bad, because we got there at like 8:30, and they close at 9. Oops. But they were very gracious about it.
So we have a concept in our marriage called Table 21. It comes from a long-ago birthday dinner at an amazing restaurant, Justus Drugstore. It has an open kitchen, and we were sitting there, watching them cook, fascinated. The owner came by and told us that the best table for watching the kitchen was Table 21, and when we called for reservations, we should request it.
So now, the best spot in the restaurant for watching the kitchen is now Table 21. Well, we got table 21. It was like watching from the wings of the stage.

I didn’t get a picture of the pizza oven. But it’s just like the one at Pizzeria Locale, which is awesome.
It’s a sister restaurant to Frasca, which I’ve raved about here before. I looked it up and it only costs about $12,000. Who wants to pitch in for one of these for our kitchen?
