Accidental Homesteader

We started this summer with high hopes. We were doing so well. Then… well… see above re: cancer. But we do have some things that are thriving through our neglect.

We took a look at our garden yesterday morning and our tomatoes are doing pretty well.

I can see them from my office. Not red yet, but some are big enough to monitor from the chill of my air conditioned house.

I harvested our potatoes. I only planted a couple, but they seemed to work well. Our corn is doing its thing. Just about ready to harvest.

And, because I’m me.

My cabbages! Ok, we only got three or so. but it is three more than I had before. Yesterday’s haul.
