We made a boatload of peanut butter this past weekend.
It’s really simple, and costs much less than store-bought. We started with five pounds of peanuts from Amazon.
In batches, roast the peanuts.
We ended up with an entire hotel pan of roasted peanuts. I put four cups at a time in the cuisinart-could have done more, but it waorks better with less in the bowl.
Blitz, blitz, blitz some more. It will get chunky, then powdery, but keep going. You’ll think there’s no way this becomes a butter, but suddenly it is.
Add salt and blitz some more. Taste and adjust. Then put in containers.
