Originally, my birthday was going to be a chuckwagon supper in the Flint Hills followed by an astronomy program. But it was rained out, so we went to Lake Scott. It was lovely.
We drove westward, and stopped in Dodge City to see about their brewery there. Had some lovely beers. We stayed in Garden City, because there wasn’t anywhere around Lake Scott except the Reserve America housing and we aren’t going to give them our social security numbers.
The next morning, we headed out to Lake Scott. We had a lovely drive, walked around a bunch, had a picnic, and saw the northernmost pueblo.
One of the areas near by is Battle Canyon at Punished Woman Fork. It was an interesting landscape.
Then was the soda shop in Garden City.
