So when we were in Lindsborg, we went to the Crown and Rye and had a wonderful dish, Varmlandskorv. It was a potato sausage in braised cabbage with beef broth. I had it with pea soup.
So we got a new goat. Yay! She’s adorable and named Clover.
So we went to the chicken auction yesterday in search of a doe kid. Nothing but Billys and wethers. Well damn.
So we have a broody hen (actually three, but we aren’t letting two of them keep eggs). She’s been in the upper left corner of the nesting boxes.
I love that I have wildflowers instead of lawn. It brings me joy to look out there. We’ve got more new flowers out there today.
So I’m late to the party on peas. Of course when it was canned or frozen peas, it was a terrible party. But I love me some fresh peas.
So right after we were done with the Farmers Market, we went to the livestock auction. We were waaaaaay out of our league.
We did another Farmers Market this weekend. I think a once-a-month cadence will work for us. This week we added a couple of new things to our wares.
Every year I think, “well, darn I guess no wildflowers this year.” Then one morning I wake up and *bam* flowers! So we’ve seen the tick weed and beardtongue. We have more!
Loving my garden this year. As are the bumble bees. We are definitely doing better.
