Day One

The first day on the train took us to Kamloops.

The whole experience was lovely in a bit silly way. It is how I would expect first class travel in steam engine days. We were the first train of the year, so maybe that accounts for the slightly extra feel of everything.

We had coffee, speeches from staff, a bagpiper, and a group “All Aboard!”

We then had a toast before we got under way. We started with breakfast.

We even got a commemorative pin.

Menus we’re available as well. Everything was branded.

We traveled through lovely countryside to the high desert.

We arrived at Kamloops, and walked to a restaurant called the Local Pig. Our chariot was scheduled to leave at 6:15, so we went to bed.
