We don’t spoil our chickens at all…
It’s hotter than blue blazes out there so I provided a little cool treat for the ladies.
Frozen corn muffins. Easy to make, and yummy and cooling.
Start off with the cheapest frozen sweet corn you can buy (Ignore the bubble juice in the background, that was for spoiling the kittens), Use a spray or oil or something to coat the mini muffin pan, and put corn in. Don’t pack it in, just loosely drop in a tablespoon or so.
Pour in water just to cover.
Cover with foil.
Pop in the freezer.
When it’s frozen – put in a shady place for the chickens to peck and eat. They’ll love it. The ice gives them something to peck. The cool water gives them something to drink. The corn gives them something to eat.
Next time, I’m going to try using mini muffin cups or silicone ice cube trays. It was hard to get the muffins out, so I just threw the whole pan out there. I think it might be better with just the muffins.
