We got lucky this year during kidding season. It is almost over, just one mama left to go.

Kidding season started on January 20, with Clover going first. She went into labor as the evening began. It was MLK day and the aurora was flaring.
We originally thought that they were three males and one female, but we learned we had it backwards. In my defense, it was dark. Ultimately, the kiddies had to be brought inside. It was just too cold. The male was a runt, coming in at a tiny 2 pounds, 3 ounces – we named him Martin, but he didn’t make it. The others thrived.

The little black one is Aurora, when I posted a picture of her on Reddit, someone commented that she looked like a bear, so she is also: Aurora Beary Alice, Bear, Baby Bear, and Ursa Major. The one with a white dot on her head is Iggy. And the one with no dot is Layla.
Next up, we had Lily and Domino. They are Iris’s kids. Lily took to mama immediately, but Domino not so much. So we brought Domino inside.

Lily is just huge now. So damn cute. She looks like a little lamb, so she gets called Lambytoes a lot.
Next up was Cookie. She had a really rough go of it and did not make it through her ordeal. But she left us with Calico. Also known as Callie. She is the cutest, silliest ball of fury in the entire world. So angry, yet so small.

Callie mainly likes food. She is going to be *pissed* when she finds out that she doesn’t get Amy more bottles after next week.

Next up was Mollie Spots. She had twins, Hazel and Wren. It went smooth. No bottle babies, mom was healthy. Finally!

Finally, Fern had her babies on Pi Day. So to honor my dad, the GOAT of math professors, we have Euler and Riemann. Riemann may be the cutest being on the planet.

One more to go! Lottie is just about ready. Bagged up and fat.
So our usual plan is that we well the boys and keep the girls, but… holy moly. For those counting at home, that’s seven baby girls, and three boys. Yeah, we can’t keep seven babies.
We are going to focus on our mini LaManchas. As with our other babies, Pickles is the father. He has fathered 44 kids thus far. Damn, dude! Plus we sold him for twice what we paid for him.
Current plan:
- Aurora – Mini LaMancha – keep
- Iggy – Mini LaMancha – keep
- Layla – Mini LaMancha – keep
- Lily – Spanish x ND – sell
- Domino – Spanish x ND – sell
- Callie – ND x ND
- Hazel – Spanish x ND – sell
- Wren – Spanish x ND – sell
- Riemann – Mini LaMancha – sell
- Euler – Mini LaMancha – sell
We will sell Lottie’s kids, plus Lottie and Mollie Spots. We sold all of our male goats from the fall except Emile, who is also going to be sold.
