Stickers!

I had some ideas for some stickers that I wanted to make, so I headed down to Ye Olde Makerspace in the Hutchinson Public Library.

The first thing I wanted to make was labels for my cheeses. Since Fern is in milk, I’ve been making goat cheese every weekend, and have been giving it away. My current labels are small, boring, and expensive.

So I designed some and printed them out on the Cricut.

Next, I wanted some goat stickers for things. I am not a great artist, so I had ChatGPT draw me a cute goat. I’m getting better at my prompt work.

I designed my goat, uploaded it into the cricut software and printed a few pages of stickers. I had a work conference the next week, and wanted to give my team stickers for their computers. Shh… don’t tell IT. Apropos of nothing, nail polish remover gets sticker residue off of a laptop.

Speaking of work, job is going well. So I watch a show called Severance. It is a workplace comedy/psychological thriller show (I know, but it works, I promise). The premise is that our heroes work for a slightly culty company on a severed floor. Their work self is severed from their home-life self. The company hierarchy idolizes the founder, Kier.

Well, since I am (a) prone to obsession, (b) an instructional designer sometimes, and (c) bored easily, during a meeting, I built an artifact from the second season while pretending to listen to onboarding (for the fifth time).

I made a training video for our company in the style of a training video from the second season. In the video, the Lumen building is animated and narrates the video. So with that… H&R Block headquarters.

Here’s the Cricut cutting out the stickers. Disappointingly few of my coworkers watched Severance. But I amused myself, which is the most important part.

I love Block, as evidenced by the fact that this is my third stint at the company, but if you’ve worked for us… it is a little culty. I mean…
