Baby Boom

We had a baby boom in August. In fact, one day in August. We were expecting Cookie to go any day. She was huge. So we were ready for a couple of kids.

So I went out to check on her on my lunch break. I saw Cookie and a baby in the new shed. On my way out, however, I heard other baby goats from a different direction.

Ope! And then I see Mollie.

She has two little ones. They look just like her.

But that’s not where I heard the babies from… so, where are the babies?

Oh, here are two more babies from Lottie.

Finally, I make it to the shed, and there’s Cookie and a baby.

Hey, there’s a little one! We check on the baby, and realize that Cookie is not done. So we gather ourselves and get ready to help. Eventually, we deliver one more that is stillborn, and there’s a third that is stuck. Fortunately, the new vet is better than the old one and is here in about 20 minutes. The last one isn’t alive either, but we have five, FIVE, new babies.

Poppy

Cookie’s baby is Poppy. She is really tired and achy from a triplet birth, and hadn’t been able to clean him thoroughly, so we brought him in to get a bath. He attended meetings with me.

Then we have Mollie Spots’ kids. Two more boys.

Moonlight and Evan

Finally, we have Lotte’s kids.

Emile and Jackson Brown

Unfortunately, all of the babies are boys, but at least we have five baby goaties.
