…a funny thing happened on the way to the bar
We hatched a sixteen chickens 19 weeks ago. So it’s high time they started earning their keep.
Pullets gather, and now my watch begins… I am the watcher on the porch swing. I am the heater that burns against the cold, the light that brings the flashlight, the rooster that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of chickens. I pledge my life and honor to the Egg Watch, for this morning and all the mornings to come…
We have had practice eggs in the coop, and I’ll leave a couple real ones in there for motivation for a day or two. We have confirmation that Black Frances is laying again, now that the Pixies are getting bigger. Unless Rhoda is laying two a day.
We managed not to lose any of our pullets (thus far). So we have twelve that are just about ready to start laying.
Noahs III and IV
Debbie Harry, Ginger, and one of the australorp pullets, who we haven’t named.
