Accidental Homesteader

So we had our birds who were favored by our Roos. Our decision to protect them just matched with the time that our best layer decided to molt. It took us a while to figure out that she wasn’t being pecked, she was molting. But she looks pretty disreputable now.

She’s starting to look a little better.

You can see that there are some new feathers sticking through.

Buffy got hers off somewhere, so the design with a V on the back isn’t as good, I don’t think. Violet’s is staying on pretty well despite the simpler styling.
