Yesterday was the middle chicks’ first day outside. It was the first day that the temperature outside was high enough for the chickens. It has been warmer, but the chicklets needed higher temps at that point.
We have a cage for which I made an oilcloth sunshade.
It is on its second season and still going strong. I did upgrade from zip ties to caribiners for one side of the shade, so I can get in that side more easily.
But here we go. A dozen of the little chicks got an outside treat. The four born last aren’t big enough, and it wasn’t warm enough.
One of the bigger ones was still small enough to get out of the cage. But they didn’t want to be too far from their brothers and sisters.
