So the Husband made a book press when he worked at the library. It was big and heavy and worked great.
But… when he left to teach, the press fell into disuse. They drew a chessboard on it. I bought it at the garage sale for a flower press. But we don’t do chess here for a variety of reasons. So I wanted to cover it up.

I think I covered it up nicely. Just a few stickers (OK a lot of stickers) a layer of Mod Podge, and we are good to go.
Then I got some flowers in vibrant colors to try to get a better result. I’m doing okay, but I would like to do better.

I thought these pink and purple ones were lovely. So I cut them short, snipped off the blooms and put it in my big-ass flower press.

I clamped them down and waited a few days. Next, I decided that I needed to swap out the blotting paper, which led to a tangent on Amazon wherein I purchased a laser pointer because ours broke (gets the cat in), then bought the replacement shelf for our fridge that we broke forever ago and the purchase of which has been cancelled by the seller twice now. Third time’s the charm.
Several hours of chores later, I actually did it.
